Zeus

The supreme deity of the ancient Greeks, son of Cronus and Rhea, brother of Demeter, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Poseidon, and father of a number of gods, demigods, and mortals; the god of the heavens, identified by the Romans with Jupiter.

Presented in this series called "The Pantheon of the Gods", as an Icelandic elder; overseeing the mountain ranges from an eclipse at the north pole to the Tandilia and Vantania orographic systems of Buenos Aires (where snow blanketed the city in 2007 for the first time in 89 years).

Lightening flashes in Zeus' eyes, foreshadowing the impending weather caused by the whirling moons of Jupiter, Io and Europa, spinning around his head. And, from his wakening breath the changing seasons stir the waters between city and countryside.

The macro and microcosm of nature's influence and the vulnerability of the human condition in its wake, threaten the journey of the traveller leaving the city, by car, late at night.  (lower left corner).
